Hana Don Japanese Cuisine & Bar, located in the heart of Toronto at 128 Dundas St W, has quickly established itself as a noteworthy destination for Japanese cuisine. Diners rave about the freshness and quality of the seafood, especially their sashimi, which is prepared with care, allowing the true flavors to shine. It’s a nice restaurant. Food is good and price is very reasonable. Surely will be back to try more on the Manu.

I’ve ordered takeout here many times before but I finally went in! Twice in one month LOL When I ordered takeout I always got the salmon and avocado don. I love it because their salmon melts in your mouth, it’s fresh and high quality. Pretty rare for this price range in Toronto I think. I’ve also eaten the unagi don, a huge piece of unagi on rice, sauce isn’t overpowering or too sweet, and it comes with a tamagoyaki. I love it! I got the charsu don too. The meat is soft and melts into your mouth. It comes with an egg. The one negative thing common in all the dons is too little stuff to rice ratio. I adapt to it and finish with even amounts but there’s a lot of rice bites without fish or meat you have to eat haha. And I think the quality at this price makes it worth it anyways. It fills you up though, so I’d rather this than a smaller amount of rice with no changes to the meat portion. They have a certain time for happy hour where a bunch of appetizers are 50% off! I find that awesome and the apps tastes really good and authentic Service is efficient and the place is decorated well. Not too much seating so try to come when it’s not peak hours! I’ll definitely be back, thank you for having me! :)

This is the most favorite Sashimi restaurant to enjoy, sushi and Japanese culture under Downtown Toronto besides Kaka Sushi and Spring Sushi. Here Sashimi seafood is very fresh and I can guarantee the quality of Sashimi. Sashimi pieces are prepared cleanly and still have the flavor of seafood and other topping. This will be a reasonable sushi place if you want to try sashimj with rice to enjoy the full dinner as well as enjoy fresh sushi. Especially the service staff is very enthusiastic. I arrived in the near closing time, but the staff was still very thoughtful to introduce the dishes for me to make a reasonable choice. Although almost closed, the attitude of the staff is still very calm, friendly and fun for customers to enjoy food. This is difficult to find in other restaurants because employees can have a bit of attitude that makes us be finish food to make eating and drinking no longer sinning and sinful. I will definitely come back many times.

Tried this restaurant as it looked very appealing while walking by. The staff are so friendly and the food was so delicious. Ordered the Kyoto don as it sounds good to leave it up to them. So good and was so happy with my choice

I went here for dinner with my partner the other night and it was phenomenal. We got the torched sushi which was delicate, intricate and amazingly delicious. We then both got bowls - I got the Hokkaido bowl with ample uni, ikura and scallops. It was fresh, balanced and for 40, gave very generous portions of all the seafood. We also got another bowl with sweet shrimp, salmon, scallop and other fish. It was also extremely fresh, nice portions of fish and well presented. The service was friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was comfortable, minimalist and clean. I will most definitely be back to try the other dishes. Everything on the menu looked good!

As a Boston girlie, I'm always on the hunt for fresh seafood at AFFORDABLE prices. This place absolutely did not disappoint. The fish absolutely melted in your mouth and mingled perfectly with the complementing sauces and seasonings. I highly recommend the yuzu seafood don and if you're a crab/shellfish person the seafood chazuke. Please note that you're supposed to pour the tea/dashi over the chazuke so it'll be a very unique texture!

Absolutely stunning seasonal special! I came in originally planning to try their famous matcha soft serve, but the Sakura Don Set caught my eye—and I’m so glad it did! The Sakura Don is like spring in a bowl: fresh Botan Ebi, creamy uni, sweet snow crab leg meat, and even firefly squid that glows in the dark (yes, really!). Every bite was a burst of flavor, especially when wrapped with the seaweed and cucumber—so fresh and umami-packed. The set also includes a warm karasumi rice cake appetizer (must eat while hot—so stretchy!), comforting miso soup, and a surprise dessert. I got cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory and it was such a nice touch. All this for 59—totally worth it for the quality and creativity. They only serve it until May 31, so definitely come before it’s gone! Also tried their Unagi Tamago Don—the fluffy 3cm thick tamago and the crispy eel were incredible. Will 100% be coming back! Visited the Dundas St W location in Toronto. Friendly staff, walk-in friendly, and beautifully presented dishes.

Amazing fresh seafood and wonderful friendly service. I was in town for a conference and dining solo. It was so good that I decided before finishing my meal that I’d be back again the next day.
